Beliefs & Values

Our Beliefs

Beliefs are important – what we believe determines how we live.

The Word of God

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

The Trinity

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption.

God the Father

We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of all people, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit is an abiding helper, teacher and guide.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a special experience following salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times.

Speaking in Tongues

The initial physical evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues, as experienced on the day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles.

Sanctification initially occurs at salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christlike.

We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

The Church

We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.

Christian Conduct

We believe that Christians should live for the glory of God and the well-being of others; that their conduct should be blameless before the world; that they should be faithful stewards of their possessions; and that they should seek to realize for themselves and others the full stature of maturity in Christ.

The Ordinances

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Last Things

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal felicity of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked.

Our Values

The Miraculous Power of God’s Presence Transforms Everything

Revive Ministries is built upon a strong foundation of Kingdom values. In order to honor Jesus and to represent His Kingdom well, we embrace the following Kingdom values, and although this is not an exhaustive list we ask that all those who choose to be in relationship with our ministry to honor these values.

Jesus is our Focus

We believe that the church is built on Jesus, by Jesus, and for Jesus – therefore, the focus should be on Jesus.

We value the exaltation of Jesus as King and the commitment to His Kingdom above everything else.

But for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist. And there is one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.
[1 Corinthians 8:6]

Love is our Message

Jesus is love – so all we do is done in love. Our words and actions must bear witness of His heart for those we serve and those we serve alongside.

By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
[John 13:35]

Scripture is our Standard

We value the Word of God as the steadfast source of truth that sustains us, and as a powerful catalyst for personal and cultural transformation.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.
[2 Timothy 3:16]

Presence is our Passion

We value the experiential, immersive presence of God and recognize that without Him in our midst we can do nothing.

And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
[Exodus 33:14]

Glory is our Pursuit

When Jesus is the center of our focus, then God’s glory is what we pursue.

The more we encounter God’s glory, the more we are transformed into His image.

But we all, seeing the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, as in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord.
[2 Corinthians 3:18]

Holy Spirit is our Empowerment

We value the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst, marking us as God’s people and manifesting Himself through signs, wonders, and miracles.

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
[Acts 1:8]

Revival is our Responsibility

Revival reawakens spiritual passion for the reality of the kingdom of God to be fully manifested in every area of life.

Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?
[Psalm 85:6]

Worship is our Response

We worship God because of who He is and what He has done for us.

Our worship proclaims God’s place in our lives.

Give to the Lord the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come before Him.
Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
1 Chronicles 16:29]

Mission is our Motivation

We value the urgent responsibility and privilege given to us by God — to proclaim the Gospel to all people, tribes and nations.

So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As My Father has sent Me, even so I send you.”
[John 20:21]

Joy is our Choice

We have the choice to honor God by choosing joy, no matter our circumstances by focusing on the goodness of God – the joy of His salvation, and His grace in our lives.

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
[Philippians 4:4]
